ArtSmart After School & In-School Program

ArtSmart_Flower.jpgThe Fresno Art Museum has an outstanding after school and in-school enrichment program which was developed through generous grants from the Bonner Family Foundation and under the guidance of Dr. Terry Allen (host of PBS series Art Is).

You can schedule an art instructor to go out to your school to teach art lessons based on the California State Standards on a one-time or regular schedule you establish with the Museum. We customize the lessons for each school and grade level to enhance the academic needs of your students. A lesson might teach the elements of art from the Visual Art Standards and also teach measurement and geometric shapes from the Math State Standards.

Our instructors have received in-depth training in the ArtSmart Professional Development Training program. They also receive ongoing in-service and observation training from experienced professionals so that they are able to provide high-quality enrichment programs.

The students at each school receive all the support and art materials needed for each lesson.

While ArtSmart's main focus is on elementary education, we have and can customize classes for students through high school.

If your school is interested in the ArtSmart After School Enrichment Program, please contact Susan Yost-Filgate at (559) 441-4221 ext. 101 or susan@fresnoartmuseum.org
