Our Education Programs
Quality educational programming is a top priority for the Fresno Art Museum. From classes for children, tours for students, and teacher/parent resources, to thought-provoking lectures and adult classes. The Museum strives to create programs and exhibitions that enlighten, challenge, and inspire creativity for all ages and provide a powerful opportunity for learning, exploration, engagement, and fun.
In recent years, a focus on Valley youth from every socio-economic group has become increasingly important for the Museum and particularly our Education Department. With numerous cuts to arts education in our schools, the Museum strives to be an innovator and find ways to provide opportunities for all students to positively interact with the arts. A key objective in our educational programming is to foster the next generation of artists and arts enthusiasts, spark critical thinking, and improve our community’s quality of life through the arts.
Each year the Fresno Art Museum expands and enhances its educational programs through partnerships with such organizations as The Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools, the Kennedy Center's Any Given Child and Partners in Education initiatives, Fresno Unified School District, Sanger Unified School District, Center for Creativity and the Arts at California State University, Fresno, Fresno County Public Library, and others.
The Fresno Art Museum and the Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools have been selected to participate in the Partners in Education program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington, D.C. (began, August 2020.)
