Traditions of the West: Honoring 100 Years of the Clovis Rodeo showcased historic and contemporary western landscape paintings along with Native American traditional art from local and southwestern US regions. This special exhibition included some never-before-seen artifacts, including Native American works from private collections and works from the Braun Research Library Collection of the Autry National Center in Los Angeles and The Huntley Western Art Collection at Cal Poly Pomona. These paintings (including an Albert Bierstadt and 16 contemporary paintings), pottery, and textile works contribute to the spirit of folklore and legend surrounding the American West that continues to resonate today.
