Clary Creager: Sun Marks

Clary Creager

Fri., Nov. 20, 2009 – Sun., April 18, 2010
Pilar Contemporary Gallery

A resident of the San Joaquin River bottom for thirty years, Clary Creager has visually absorbed and documented the seasonal changes and events of her natural world. The resulting artworks were created by the juxtaposition of the visual record of sun marks with that of concurrent human activities. The exhibition presents the illuminating sense of poetic beauty and power created by the artist’s creative transformation of the artificial changes and natural cycles of her environment.
