The Fresno Art Museum's Art Link sessionsare the perfect field trip for you and your students to enjoy the experience of the many fascinating and wonderful exhibits that the FAM has to offer! The Art Link program offers a variety of hands-on art activities held in the FAM’s Child Space as well as guided tours by a FAM ArtLink Art Instructor.

When are ArtLink workshops held?

ArtLink workshops are held every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, in the Rotary ChildSpace. Not available Mondays and Tuesdays, during school holidays or Museum exhibtion changes. Contact us for availability.

What happens when I bring my class to FAM for an ArtLink field trip?

During your FAM field trip, students will actively engage in a creative learning experience. Your class will have an engaging and interactive guided tour of the exhibitions and participate in an interactive Art Workshop led by an ArtLink Art Instructor. 

Each lesson is designed to provide students with a fun educational experience, which allows self-expression through different art media. Each studio workshop produces a take-home piece of student artwork for every participant.

Does the lesson conform to state standards?

Each ArtLink lesson is grade appropriate and addressed the California Visual Arts Standards. Art Link teaches students the seven elements of art: Line, Shape, Form, Texture, Value, and Color.

How much does it cost?

ArtLink field trip costs are as follows: (Maximum of 40 students)

  • 20 Students and Under: $60
  • 21 Students - 30 Students : $90
  • 31 Student - 40 Students : $120
  • For every 5 students, 1 teacher or chaperone is free.

Cancellations will be refunded only if a school representative calls 72 hours before the scheduled workshop.

How do I schedule an ArtLink field trip?

To schedule a field trip, please do the following:

  • Please email or call for availability. It is recommended to schedule months in advance.
  • Contact Susan Yost-Filgate at (559) 441-4221 ext. 101, fax (559) 441-4227, or e-mail: susan@fresnoartmusuem.org with the following information:
  1. Teacher’s name
  2. School or organization’s name
  3. Address, phone number, fax number,  & e-mail address
  4. Date of field trip and two alternate dates
  5. Number of students, number of chaperones/teachers, and grade level
